Batakamma Puja will be celebrated at Sri Chinmaya Saraswati Temple on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 4 PM as part of Devi Navarathri celebrations. This puja is followed by pot luck dinner.

During this festival, Goddess Gauri is worshipped in the form of Bathukamma. Women seek Goddess Gouri’s blessings for prosperity and a good year. Bathukamma is a beautiful flower stack, arranged with different flowers usually in seven concentric layers in a conical mound. The flowers used for making Bathukamma are unique seasonal flowers.
